Bhajan.

Bhajan is basically any type of devotional Hindu song. It is a lyrical expression of love for God.The Sanskrit word bhajan is derived from the root bhaj, which means “divide”. The word also connotes “being connected to something ” and in its context being spiritually connected to God.

Long time back saints like Meera Bai, Kabirdas, Surdas used to sing poetic and devotional songs in different raagas.These songs were known as Bhajans,which later became famous.Bhajans are diiferent sections,for that reason it can be sung in various taals. Bhajan singing is independent and can be sung with no rules or limits of classical singing.Most important part of bhajan singing is it should be devoted to God.Words play major role in this form of singing.
